Recipe for Fried Onion Rings

Ingredients: 1 cup sifted plain flour1 3/4 tsp salt1 1/2 tsp baking soda1 egg yolk2/3 cup milk1 tbsp salad oil1 egg white (folded in last)onions

Method:
Peel and slice onion 1/4 inch thick. Separate and cover with cold water for 30 minutes. Mix all ingredients except egg white and onion into a batter. Beat the egg white and fold into the batter.Drain rings and dip in batter. Fry in deep shortening or oil at least 1 inch deep.
